Our Doors Are Open

2435 Kinwest is both our address and our mission. We use our space and resources to bless our neighbors with activities, classes, and support groups throughout the week. Everyone is welcome.

  • English as a Second Language

    Wednesdays • 6:30-8:30 p.m. • All Welcome

    A free curriculum-based course for non-native English speakers to learn and practice reading, writing, speaking, and listening to English.

    • We have three levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced.
      All needed materials provided.
      Meet us in the Haven rooms every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
      Your first visit will focus primarily on assessing skill and class placement.
      Meals are provided for regular participants and their families at 5:30 p.m.

  • Medical Clinic

    The 2435 Medical Clinic is a free clinic available to anyone with need, providing professional assistance in the form of medical care, case management, and nutrition classes.

    • Meet us in the Medical Clinic by the commons on Wednesday nights.
      Check-in is from 4-5 p.m.
      Patient visits are from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

  • Citizenship

    Wednesdays • 6:30-8:30 p.m. • All Welcome

    Our free citizenship program provides opportunities for students to prepare for their citizenship application, exam, and interview by a certified citizenship instructor. One-on-one coaching is provided as needed.

    • Meet us on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Conference Room.
      No prep work or extra material needed.
      Meals are provided for regular participants and their families at 5:30 p.m.

  • Job Transition

    Our Career Transition Workshop will guide you through essentials to getting hired: resume creation, cover letter writing, networking and interviewing skills.

    Meet us in West A on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m.
    Bring a laptop or resume in digital format.

  • One Parent + Kids

    Wednesdays • 6:30–8:30 p.m.

    OP+K is an opportunity every fall for single parents and their kids to heal and build stronger families. The program is designed in such a way to provide healthy ways for parents and kids to deal with the confusion and grief caused by an absent parent or the separation/divorce of the parents.

    Meet us on Wednesday nights from September 6 – November 15 at 6:30 p.m. in West D at IBC. 

    Meals are provided for regular participants and their families at 5:30 p.m.

      Serve as administrative support.

  • Wednesday Night Meal

    Weekly • 5-6:20 p.m. • The Commons

    A low-cost meal is offered each week and is available to everyone. $3 per person and a max of $10 per family.

Note: Childcare and a free meal is provided for families participating regularly in OP+K, ESL, Citizenship, and Job Transition. A community meal is provided at a reduced-cost for any other individuals or families who drop by on Wednesday night.
